AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION
The journey time from the airport to the centre is between 20 to 30 minutes depending on the time of day however all means of transport take more or less the same length of time.
Barcelona Airport Taxis
Travelling by Taxi is a low cost and convenient way to get from the airport to the city centre, especially if you have a family or a lot of luggage. You'll find the airport Barcelona taxi rank on the left hand side when you leave the airport main exit. The taxis operate all night and there are several hundred of them so you don't have to worry about not being able to catch a cab.
The journey to the city centre will take you between 15 to 25 mins depending on road conditions.

Expect to pay around 30
Euros for the journey into the centre. There will also be an additional surcharge charge for each bag you're carrying. You'll find the rates displayed inside the cab.
All official Barcelona taxis are black and yellow and are required to charge you only the value on the meter (Plus any surcharge. Surcharges include a supplement for travelling from the Airport, or to or from the port and also for each one of your baggages, all surcharge rates are displayed in the back of the taxi).
The taxi service in Barcelona is generally very good, clean and reliable.
Aerobus - Airport Express bus service to Barcelona city center from the airport (Tel: 0034 906 427 017)
The aerobus service is a shuttle bus service that links Barcelona airport to the city centre. This service runs normally runs every 15 mins within its fixed hours of operation (see official website below for the exact timetable for the Aerobus)
You can catch the Aerobus from the airport and it stops at all 3 terminals. The aerobus will then take you to the city center where you can alight either at Placa Espana or Placa de Cataluna in the city centre. From there you can catch the metro. Click here for the Barcelona Metro Map (pdf)
Ticket Price 3.60 Euros for a single - Tickets can only be purchased on the bus.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Metro
Barcelona has a clen punctual, air-conditioned metro system that will take you to most of the major sites. The metro is especially useful in the summer when it can be quite hot to walk everywhere. The metr is the easiest and fastest way tof oving around the city.
Barcelona has got 2 diffrent systems, the subway with its 5 lines and FCG, with 2 lines in Barcelona and 4 more lines going to nearby towns.

Bus TMB
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona provide an extensive network of public transport (underground metro subway system, bus, FGC and Renfe) throughout Barcelona and the suburbs. Local Trains
For a long distance trip but also for shorter rides, the railway is an excellent option: the trains are comfortable, clean, fast, arriving on time. The Spanish railway system, RENFE, rund trains over the whole country. There are different kinds of trains (estrella, Talgo, etc.) Different special discounts are available (for youth, for families, for retired people, discounts on "blue days", etc.)
For foreigners or Spanish non residents, there are also the tourist card and the Inte Rail ticket.

Taxis
There is generally no shortage of taxis available to/from the centre. It's a
half-hour ride and should cost about 20. Make sure the meter is on at the
start of the journey.
Night Bus
The NITBUS is yellow and the service runs approximately every 30 to 45 minutes, between 11pm and 3 or 4 am. All of them stop at Plaza Catalunya.

TOURISTIC TRANSPORTATION
Touristic Transport
The best way to visit Barcelona in a day. Get on and get off the bus at will at any one of the programmed stops, visit or shops at a reduced price. Buy the ticket directly on board the bus, and get an informative leaflet on the places you can visit, as well as a card with discount coupons for some of these places. The full ride takes about 2 hours and the bus comes every 20 to 30 minutes approximately.
Golondrinas
The best way to visit the port from the des. 35 minutes tour to the breakwater sea wall and 2 hrs. tour to the Olympic Port. The address is Portal de la Pau s/n Next to Colom Statue.
Tramvia Blau
The only tram left in Barcelona. Located up-town, this old but restored tram will take you from Pl. John F. Kenney to Pl. Dr. Andreu, where you can connect with the cable car to reach the top of the Tibidabo. On the way you will enjoy magnificent modernist style houses as well as impressing views of the city. You could get there by taking the Bus Turístic FGC or Buses 17, 22, 58, 73, 85.
Cableway
It´s like watching Barcelona from a plane. Impressing views over Barcelona and the port. The address from Barcelona or from the top station of "funicular de Montjouic". It is opened everyday from 10:30 to 19h.
